Novalie had her spring music concert last week. I was really impressed with her music teacher and the performance. She picked fun, upbeat, short songs and all the kids were so cute and did a great job. Of course, Novalie was the cutest!
One of our favorite family shows is Wipeout. Novalie really, really wants to be on Wipeout. Like now, not when she is an adult. This does not surprise me one bit. Yesterday, we watched a re-run and Novalie decided to make her own Wipeout course in her bedroom. I introduced her as contestant #1 and asked her how she was going to get through the course. Her response, “I am not going to get in the mud or the water and I am going to use my batgirl batarangs.” If you have seen the show, you know some of the contestants are a little crazy and so Novalie was talking in a crazy voice jumping around flexing her muscles. It was so funny. Man, I wish I had a video camera for moments like that. Anyhow, we both had gone through the course a few times and it was Novalie’s turn and as she jumped into the basket, which is the final obstacle, she cut her pinkie toe really good. I mean a whole thick slice with the skin barely hanging on. I felt so bad for her and our game had to come to an end. Who knew you could get so injured from a laundry basket.
This is part of the course. We had to jump across the big pillows (equivalent to the big balls). The blankets are all mud. Land on the bed.
From the bed we had to jump onto these pillows (which represent the sucker punch wall) and slide across them without falling into the mud.
To finish the course, we had to jump and land in the laundry basket. It looks harmless, right? Wrong! It hurt my baby!
With all this dark, cold, rainy, snowy weather, we have been going a little crazy being inside so much. I have to keep coming up with things to do to keep the T.V. off. This is one activity we have done that was fun and we all made an egg animal or monster. Novalie really got into it and this morning she woke up and did more.
Happy Spring (when it gets here).
