Plan of Salvation

Dear Novalie,

The missionaries recently taught Zach a new member lesson about the plan of salvation.  You were gone with Kayla, so I wanted to share with you a couple of things that I really love about the plan of salvation.

First of all, it makes sense.  Our life here on earth would be pointless if there was no previous life and no life after we leave this earth. There would be no hope.  The plan makes perfect sense and I believe in it with all my heart.

Second, I love, super love that I have already chosen to return to live with my Father in Heaven.  You did too.  We chose to come to earth to get a body and experience this hard, but joyful life.  We chose to follow Jesus!  We wanted to have free agency and prove we have what it takes to make it back to Heavenly Father.  I love that we got to make that choice and that we both chose Jesus.

Third, thank goodness for the atonement.  Life is hard and there are stumbling blocks all around us.  I stumble and fall on those blocks a lot, so I am very thankful that I can repent and be forgiven.  Jesus is good.  Jesus is merciful.  Jesus is kind.  He wants so badly for us to follow Him and He is going to be pleading with us at judgement to live with Him again.

What a perfect plan the plan of salvation is!  I am glad that I have the knowledge I do and that I can share with you some of my favorite parts.  I hope you work hard, make good choices and use the atonement in your own life to reach our desire and our pre-mortal choice to return to live with Heavenly Father FOREVER.  I can not think of anything happier.

I love you,

I love the 4th of July.

I love the red, white and blue.

I love the pride I feel celebrating the freedoms of America.

I cry every time I hear any patriotic song.

I love the parades.

I love the heat.

I love the swimming.

I love the bbq’s.

I love the fireworks.

I love the American food.

I love the snow cones.

I love being with my little family.

We got a bucket of Einstein bagels and found a nice shady spot to watch the parade.

Zach and Kameron

Hanging out, waiting for the parade to start.

My American beauty.

The rest of the day, the kids swam in my brother’s pool and ate a yummy bbq while Kevin and I snuck off to the movies.  🙂

They played inside for awhile too and watched a movie.

Olive went for her first swim on the 4th of July.

My brother bought a ton of fireworks for them to set off and set up the tent in his backyard.  Novalie said she was going to sleepover with the boys.  She made it until 11ish and called me to come get her.  It was her first attempt to sleep away from home.  I was hopeful she would make it all night, but she likes to be home knowing I am close by.  And I am just fine with that.  I like her home too.

Novalie’s 11th Birthday

I say it every year, but how is it possible for this girl of mine to be 11?!?!

I went out early and got Novalie a balloon and a donut to wake her up with.  We had a little celebration alone together in my bedroom.  I love that girl.

We got dressed and went to pick up Olive.  I wrote all about that here

The rest of the day was busy, chaotic (with a new dog and lots of people) and fun!

Novalie and her BFF, Kayla, opening her birthday present.

Novalie chose Dairy Queen for her birthday lunch.

Novalie wanted a shark fin cake and she wanted me to make it.  This is what we came up with.  I am not an artist of any sort, but I get an A for effort.  Most importantly, Novalie loved it and thought it was perfect.  (p.s. those red things are swedish fish sticking up out of the water ;))

Novalie wanted all her family to come over and have a BBQ.  That is just what we did.

Taking a break from all the outdoor games going on.  (badminton, volleyball, tag, capture the flag….they played well into the darkness)

Novalie and her cousin, Austin, playing with Olive.  Olive was a big hit at her party.

Some of the cousins that were they.  Love them all!

Happy Birthday baby girl!  I love how Novalie loves life as you can see in this picture.

She had to make a new wish because she has been wishing for a dog for y~e~a~r~s!

We got Novalie new roller skates which she loved!  She can’t wait until Olive is trained enough to go roller skating with her.

I think the biggest thing that I will remember from this time in Novalie’s life that she has learned is that she can do hard things.  It stretches her, helps her learn self control, helps her learn how to deal with her emotions and gives her confidence.  She had A LOT of hard things during the school year and she has had super hard things to face this summer.  She is a rock.

Favorite food:  Mac & cheese and my chicken fajitas

Favorite movie:  Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Favorite thing to do:  Scooter with Zach

Favorite TV show:  DC Cupcakes

Favorite book:  Humphrey series

Favorite memory of being 10:  Family reunion at the Oregon Coast

Best friends:  Kayla, Emma and Sarah

Novalie loves to roller skate, write stories, scooter, play toys in her room, print out pictures and make scrapbooks, swim, play tennis, play the piano, play with her friends, get pedicures and manicures.

Novalie is so funny, has so much energy, is loyal, and is very honest.  She still very much likes routine and does not like sudden changes.  She gets moody and feisty and talks back more then I would like.  😉

She is fantasticly amazing.  She is going places.  I can’t wait to continue on her journey with her.  She is my shining star.

My beautifully unique Sunshine T-Rex.

Happy Birthday Novalie!
